Origin Story

The MP7 | Tall Grass, released on December 3, 2020, with Operation Broken Fang, emerged from The Ancient Collection. Its visual identity is defined by a green grass hydrographic pattern applied across the weapon, particularly visible on the side body and magazine in first-person view. This skin is primarily a low-profile, budget souvenir MP7 from the Ancient set, often sought by souvenir collectors and those building Ancient-themed loadouts. Its flavor text, "Nothing good ever happens in tall grass," adds a subtle narrative touch.

Drop Chance

MP7 | Tall Grass is Industrial Grade, a common skin tier, one step above Consumer Grade. It has appeared across 8 tournament packages, most recently the Rio 2022 Ancient Souvenir Package, Shanghai 2024 Ancient Souvenir Package, and Stockholm 2021 Ancient Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Ancient Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Industrial Grade skins like Tall Grass are a small fraction of total package contents. There are 3 other Industrial Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

Skin Condition

Float range 0 to 0.65. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Factory New ($12.43): The green grass pattern is fully intact with strong, saturated color and minimal to no visible scratches, appearing pristine for souvenir collectors.
• Minimal Wear ($3.15): The overall pattern remains clean and vibrant, showing only light edge wear beginning on the front, magazine edges, and rails.
• Field-Tested ($2.30): Noticeable edge wear and small chips appear on exposed corners, and the green grass pattern begins to lose saturation on middle-body surfaces and the magazine.
• Well-Worn ($2.20): Extensive wear covers edges and prominent surfaces, with significant portions of the grass pattern appearing washed out, especially near the front and upper receiver.
• Battle-Scarred ($2.12): The grass hydrographic is heavily faded with broad areas of exposed base material and muted greens, making the pattern look patchy or dirty overall.

The MP7 | Tall Grass is exclusively found in souvenir packages from past Majors, specifically the Stockholm 2021 Ancient Souvenir Package, Antwerp 2022 Ancient Souvenir Package, Rio 2022 Ancient Souvenir Package, Paris 2023 Ancient Souvenir Package, Copenhagen 2024 Ancient Souvenir Package, Shanghai 2024 Ancient Souvenir Package, Austin 2025 Ancient Souvenir Package, and Budapest 2025 Ancient Souvenir Package. These souvenir packages were originally awarded to viewers during Major tournaments. Since these tournaments have concluded, new packages are no longer being distributed. Consequently, buyers can acquire this skin by purchasing it directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or through various case-opening and skin trading sites.
