Origin Story

The M4A4 | Poly Mag features a custom paint job with a clear polymer magazine and a tan stock, hand guard, and grip. This design gives the M4A4 a modern, tactical service rifle appearance, reinforced by its "Standard operating procedure" flavor text. Released on July 1, 2022, as part of The Recoil Collection with the "A New Cassssssse" update, it presents a utilitarian aesthetic. The skin's color scheme and clear magazine offer a distinct visual identity for players seeking a grounded, military-inspired look.

Drop Chance

M4A4 | Poly Mag is Mil-Spec, a Blue-tier skin, less common than base collection drops. From the Recoil Case: approximately 11.42% per opening (roughly 1 in 9). The 79.92% Mil-Spec tier rate is split across 7 Mil-Spec skins in the case. StatTrak versions drop at ~1.14% from the Recoil Case (about 1 in 88). • Field-Tested ($0.12): Moderate edge wear becomes visible on the handguard, barrel, and stock, with the tan areas showing patchy fading along high-contact lines.
• Well-Worn ($0.09): Tan surfaces exhibit larger, more continuous worn patches on corners and the front handguard, and black metal parts show more visible scratches.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.10): Extensive wear is present with significant portions of tan paint chipped or thinned, and the clear magazine appears heavily scuffed and degraded.

How to Obtain

The M4A4 | Poly Mag is primarily obtained by opening a Recoil Case. While the Recoil Case is no longer in the active drop pool, existing cases can still be opened. Players can also acquire the skin through trade-up contracts using ten lower-rarity Mil-Spec skins from The Recoil Collection. A StatTrak version is also available for kill tracking. Additionally, this skin can be purchased directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or various case-opening and skin trading sites.
