Origin Story

The USP-S | Night Ops is one of the earliest silenced pistol skins in CS, introduced all the way back in 2013 as part of The Lake Collection. Built around a low-visibility camo concept, it was designed to look like a sidearm issued for nocturnal or overcast operations, where dark blues and muted greys blend into the environment. Its place in such an old collection gives it a bit of “classic CS” status, predating most of the modern cosmetic design trends that rely on bright, flashy artwork.

Drop Chance

Drop chance / probability for USP-S | Night Ops is unknown and has not been publicly disclosed. Valve does not provide official drop-rate data for collection or souvenir-package items, so any specific percentage claimed for this skin would be purely speculative.
The current supply of USP-S | Night Ops comes exclusively from the secondary market (trades and listings) and from existing player inventories originating from past souvenir drops.

Skin Condition

Night Ops is available in all five standard wear levels, plus Souvenir versions across the same spectrum:

• Factory New: strongest contrast between dark navy blotches and lighter grey base, camo edges remain sharp.
• Minimal Wear / Field-Tested: pattern begins to soften slightly, with a more blended, used look across the slide and suppressor.
• Well-Worn / Battle-Scarred: overall finish appears more faded and desaturated, but the camo layout stays readable and thematically consistent.
• Souvenir variants follow the same visual progression, but their rarity makes any float above Field-Tested notably collectible.

Model

The Night Ops skin uses the legacy CS:GO model of the USP-S, reflecting its original 2013 release date. The older model’s sharper grip and more angular slide complement the military feel of the pattern, making it look like a well-used service pistol that predates the flashier cosmetics of modern CS2. In-game, the CS2 rendering still upgrades its lighting and materials, but the underlying geometry is true to the classic USP-S silhouette.

How to Obtain

Night Ops does not drop from any active weapon case. Instead, it’s tied directly to The Lake Collection, which can appear as a random map-based drop and in older souvenir packages.
Standard versions are most commonly obtained via the Steam Market or trading, since natural collection drops are relatively infrequent today.
Souvenir versions come from Mirage/Inferno-era Major souvenir packages from when the Lake Collection was in rotation, making high-grade Souvenir Night Ops copies significantly rarer than their regular counterparts.

Price Range

Standard Night Ops is a classic budget USP-S, with plentiful listings in every wear tier, while Souvenir versions–especially in clean condition–can be surprisingly expensive due to their age and limited supply.
Market Range: $0.27 – $57.50

Within that band, Factory New and Minimal Wear Souvenir copies sit at the top end, while regular Battle-Scarred versions are among the cheapest silenced pistols on the market.

Visual Theme

The USP-S | Night Ops uses a VariCamo hydrographic pattern made up of irregular, organic patches of navy, slate and grey. The design is intentionally subdued: no loud highlights, no bright accents–just a functional, stealth-oriented camouflage that looks at home on covert gear. The pattern wraps completely around the suppressor, slide and grip, giving the pistol a fully camouflaged profile when inspected in-game.

Player Rating

While not a flashy showpiece, Night Ops remains a respected budget option thanks to its clean tactical look and nostalgic status as one of the earliest USP-S skins.
