Origin Story

The MP9 | Buff Blue, released on April 1, 2025, as part of the Spring Forward update, joins The Ascent Collection with its distinct appearance. It features a worn, blue spray-painted pattern, giving the submachine gun a rugged, used aesthetic. The in-game description notes, "It has been spray-painted with a worn, blue pattern," a visual complemented by the flavor text, "That's gonna leave a mark!" This skin offers a straightforward, blue-themed option for players.

Drop Chance

MP9 | Buff Blue is Consumer Grade, the most common drop tier in CS2. It can drop as an end-of-match reward from active competitive play on the Ascent Collection item pool. Map drops follow a weighted rarity system that heavily favors common grades, so Consumer Grade drops are uncommon and Valve doesn't publish per-skin odds. There are 10 other Consumer Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. Most copies enter the market through trade-up contracts or direct purchase at a listed seller's price.

Float range 0 to 0.7. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Factory New ($0.16): The blue spray pattern is most saturated and continuous, with minimal to no visible scratches on major panels; it offers cleaner edges on the front and top of the MP9 compared to Minimal Wear.
• Minimal Wear ($0.04): The blue remains strong and mostly intact, though very close inspection may reveal minor edge wear on the front, ejection port area, and stock corners; this tier is often a value pick for its near-Factory New visuals.
• Field-Tested ($0.03): Noticeable chipping and fading appear on high-contact areas, with some segments of the blue spray pattern looking thinner or partially worn through, especially near the front and along edges.
• Well-Worn ($0.03): Significant loss of blue coverage occurs on many edges and corners, with more uniform dulling across the surface, giving the weapon a heavily used appearance.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.03): The blue spray is substantially faded and broken, especially on the front and edges, with large portions of the underlying material becoming dominant, creating a visibly rougher and more patchy look.
