Origin Story

The M4A4 | Sheet Lightning, released on April 1, 2025, as part of the Spring Forward update, features a dramatic sheet lightning pattern spray-painted over a charcoal and gold-colored base. This design gives the rifle a dark, intense look, punctuated by the bright, jagged lightning. The skin is part of The Boreal Collection, known for its distinct visual themes.

Drop Chance

M4A4 | Sheet Lightning is Restricted, a Purple-tier skin in the upper half of the rarity ladder. It can drop as an end-of-match reward from active competitive play on the Boreal Collection item pool. Map drops follow a weighted rarity system that heavily favors common grades, so Restricted drops are uncommon and Valve doesn't publish per-skin odds. • Well-Worn ($1.33): Significant fading and larger patches of exposed metal are visible, making the lightning pattern less continuous and the base colors duller.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.97): Extensive wear, chipping, and scratches obscure much of the sheet lightning pattern, with the charcoal base appearing patchy and the gold less prominent.
