Origin Story

The Tec-9 | Whiteout, released on April 1, 2025, as part of the Spring Forward update, features a stark, all-white spray-painted design. Its in-game description notes, "It is spray-painted all white," while the flavor text adds, "It looks pure, but looks can be deceiving." This finish style covers the weapon in a uniform white, creating a clean and minimalist appearance. As part of The Train 2025 Collection, it presents a distinct visual that emphasizes simplicity.

Drop Chance

Tec-9 | Whiteout is Restricted, a Purple-tier skin in the upper half of the rarity ladder. It appeared in the Austin 2025 Train Souvenir Package and Budapest 2025 Train Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Train 2025 Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Restricted skins like Whiteout are a small fraction of total package contents. There are 2 other Restricted skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

• Field-Tested ($5.55): More noticeable chipping appears along edges and high-contact areas, with small patches of darker base material beginning to show through the white coat.
• Well-Worn ($3.15): Large areas of wear are present on corners and sides, revealing more dark base metal through the white, which can appear dirtier or mottled.
• Battle-Scarred ($2.61): The white paint is heavily worn, especially on edges and contact surfaces, with substantial portions showing darker base material and remaining white areas looking faded or dirty.
