Origin Story

The Tec-9 | Brass, released on August 14, 2013, as part of The Arms Deal update, is a Mil-Spec pistol skin from The Inferno Collection. Its design features parts of the weapon replaced with brass, giving it a distinctive warm metallic appearance. This patina finish darkens and tarnishes with wear, creating an aged, industrial metal look. Drop Chance

Tec-9 | Brass is Mil-Spec, a Blue-tier skin, less common than base collection drops. It has appeared across 8 tournament packages, most recently the ESL One Katowice 2015 Inferno Souvenir Package, Krakow 2017 Inferno Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Inferno Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Inferno Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Mil-Spec skins like Brass are a small fraction of total package contents. Brass uses the legacy Tec-9 model, introduced with The Arms Deal on August 14, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The Tec-9 | Brass is exclusively found as a Souvenir item, originally distributed through specific tournament Souvenir Packages. These packages, including the Boston 2018 Inferno Souvenir Package and DreamHack 2014 Inferno Souvenir Package, were awarded to viewers during past Major events. Since these tournaments have concluded, new packages are no longer being distributed. Today, buyers acquire this skin by purchasing existing copies directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or through various case-opening and skin trading sites.
