Origin Story

The MP9 | Sand Dashed, released on November 27, 2013, as part of The Dust 2 Collection, features a spray-painted finish. Its design, achieved by using short pieces of tape as stencils, creates dashed patterns across the weapon's body. This gives the MP9 a rough, utilitarian appearance with muted tan, beige, and grey tones. The skin's aesthetic aligns with the desert environment of the Dust 2 map.

Drop Chance

MP9 | Sand Dashed is Consumer Grade, the most common drop tier in CS2. It has appeared across 11 tournament packages, most recently the Katowice 2019 Dust II Souvenir Package, London 2018 Dust II Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Dust II Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Dust 2 Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Consumer Grade skins like Sand Dashed are a small fraction of total package contents. There are 5 other Consumer Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

Skin Condition

Float range 0.06 to 0.8. Exteriors: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Minimal Wear ($0.05): The sand and grey dashed spray pattern remains almost fully intact, with only very light edge wear on the barrel tip and ejection port edges; this is the cleanest possible appearance for this skin.
• Field-Tested ($0.03): Moderate edge wear becomes visible on the front of the receiver, barrel, and magazine edges, and the sand color starts to dull slightly as the darker undercoat shows through.
• Well-Worn ($0.03): Heavy wear appears on most exposed edges, with large patches of the darker undercoat showing through the sand and grey spray pattern, making the weapon appear noticeably darker and more patchy.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.03): Extensive paint loss covers large areas of the body, especially on the front, receiver, and magazine, causing the sand color to be faded and fragmented, with the weapon looking more metallic overall.

Model

Sand Dashed uses the legacy MP9 model, introduced with Out with the old, in with the new on November 27, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The MP9 | Sand Dashed is exclusively available in souvenir quality from The Dust 2 Collection. It could originally be obtained by opening specific souvenir packages, such as the Atlanta 2017 Dust II Souvenir Package or the Cologne 2016 Dust II Souvenir Package, which were awarded to viewers during past Major tournaments. Consequently, players primarily acquire this skin by purchasing it directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or through various case-opening and skin-trading sites.
