Origin Story

The SG 553 | Waves Perforated, released on November 27, 2013, as part of The Lake Collection, features a spray-painted finish. Its design, described in-game, uses ripped tape strips and perforated metal as stencils. The resulting pattern covers the weapon in muted greys, off-whites, and dull blues, with the perforated and striped motif concentrated on the upper receiver and handguard. This gives the rifle a rough, industrial look, especially visible in first-person view. As a Consumer Grade rifle from an early collection, it is primarily known as a common drop pool item.

Drop Chance

SG 553 | Waves Perforated is Consumer Grade, the most common drop tier in CS2. It can drop as an end-of-match reward from active competitive play on the Lake Collection item pool. Map drops follow a weighted rarity system that heavily favors common grades, so Consumer Grade drops are uncommon and Valve doesn't publish per-skin odds. There are 5 other Consumer Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. Most copies enter the market through trade-up contracts or direct purchase at a listed seller's price.

Float range 0.06 to 0.8. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Factory New ($1.72): The spray pattern appears clean and continuous, with sharp edges on the tape and perforated stencils, showing a uniform grey and blue tone.
• Minimal Wear ($0.10): The pattern remains fully intact, with subtle micro-scratches appearing on extremities like the barrel tip and magazine edges.
• Field-Tested ($0.04): Noticeable wear appears on contact edges, with small exposed-metal spots on the barrel, front of the handguard, and receiver edges.
• Well-Worn ($0.04): More extensive chipping and edge wear are present, particularly around the front of the gun and top edges, making the perforated motif partially broken.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.08): Significant portions of the spray-paint layer on edges and high-contact surfaces are worn down to metal, with overall washed-out colors.

Model

Waves Perforated uses the legacy SG 553 model, introduced with Out with the old, in with the new on November 27, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The SG 553 | Waves Perforated is primarily obtained from The Lake Collection. While the collection no longer drops directly, this skin can still be acquired through trade-up contracts using ten lower-rarity skins from The Lake Collection. A Souvenir-quality variant is also available from specific Lake-themed souvenir packages tied to older tournaments like DreamHack 2013 and ESL One Cologne 2014.
