Origin Story

The M249 Magma features copper-plated parts masked in a magma pattern, given a red patina through sodium chloride and high heat. Unmasked areas were subsequently darkened via oxidization using liver of sulfur. This fiery design was introduced on December 18, 2013, as part of the Winter Offensive update and its associated Winter Offensive Collection. The skin's aesthetic evokes intense heat, aligning with its flavor text, "A burning rate of fire."

Magma uses the legacy M249 model, introduced with Winter Offensive on December 18, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The M249 Magma is primarily obtained by opening a Winter Offensive Weapon Case. Players can also acquire this Mil-Spec rifle through trade-up contracts, using ten lower-rarity skins from The Winter Offensive Collection. A StatTrak version is also available for kill tracking.
