Origin Story

The Survival Knife | Case Hardened was introduced on November 19, 2019, as part of the Operation Shattered Web update. Its distinctive appearance comes from a color case-hardening process, where wood charcoal is applied at high temperatures to create randomized patterns. This process typically results in a mix of blue, gold, purple, and dark steel tones across the blade. The most prominent visual feature for collectors is the blade face, where the unique Case Hardened pattern is displayed.

Drop Chance

Survival Knife | Case Hardened is a knife-tier skin, so standard Valve rarity odds don't apply. Knives drop at a combined rate of approximately 0.26% from supported cases before accounting for which knife type and finish you get. Valve doesn't publish individual knife or phase probabilities.

Skin Condition

Float range 0 to 1. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is available in FN, MW, FT, WW, BS.

• Minimal Wear ($144.99): The blade retains its vibrant pattern, with only the slightest indications of wear appearing on the edges.
• Field-Tested ($122.79): Minor wear becomes visible on the blade's surface and edges, slightly dulling the case-hardened colors.
• Well-Worn ($120.75): The patina darkens across the blade, and the original colors show reduced saturation due to more extensive wear.
• Battle-Scarred ($120.89): The blade appears significantly darker and heavily worn, with the case-hardened pattern largely obscured by the darkened patina.

Model

Case Hardened uses the legacy Survival Knife model, introduced with Operation Shattered Web on November 19, 2019. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

Knives are a rare special drop from these cases, separate from the regular weapon skin pool, with an approximate 0.26% combined knife drop rate. A StatTrak version is also available for kill tracking. Buyers can also purchase this knife directly from the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or case-opening sites.
