Origin Story

The G3SG1 | Desert Storm, released on November 27, 2013, as part of the "Out with the old, in with the new" update, features a desert camouflage hydrographic paint job. This design is consistent with the broader Dust 2 Collection, which emphasizes desert and Middle-Eastern aesthetics across its various weapon finishes. The skin's visual identity is defined by its muted tan and brown tones, presenting a classic military-inspired look. It is recognized as a common, low-tier item within its collection.

Drop Chance

G3SG1 | Desert Storm is Consumer Grade, the most common drop tier in CS2. It has appeared across 11 tournament packages, most recently the Katowice 2019 Dust II Souvenir Package, London 2018 Dust II Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Dust II Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Dust 2 Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Consumer Grade skins like Desert Storm are a small fraction of total package contents. • Factory New ($0.86): The desert camouflage pattern is fully vibrant with crisp lines, and the receiver and scope area show no visible wear.
• Minimal Wear ($0.05): The camo remains sharp with only light softening on high-contact edges like the stock tip and barrel, maintaining a nearly new appearance.
• Field-Tested ($0.03): Noticeable dulling of the tan and brown tones occurs, and the pattern starts to look washed out on the fore-end and stock edges.
• Well-Worn ($0.03): The camo appears faded with more visible scratches and exposed darker base metal on extremities such as the scope and stock corners.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.03): The desert camo pattern can become substantially washed out, with broad areas appearing thin or partially lost, resulting in a heavily worn look.
