Origin Story

The G3SG1 | Polar Camo features an arctic camouflage hydrographic, painted with white, light grey, and medium grey patterns. It debuted on November 27, 2013, as part of The Train Collection, released alongside the "Out with the old, in with the new" update. This skin provides a clean, tactical look for players who favor a subdued, military-inspired aesthetic. Its flavor text, "Snow is cold; death is colder," adds a chilling thematic element to its design. The Polar Camo offers a straightforward, functional appearance for the G3SG1.

Drop Chance

G3SG1 | Polar Camo is Consumer Grade, the most common drop tier in CS2. It has appeared across 10 tournament packages, most recently the Krakow 2017 Train Souvenir Package, London 2018 Train Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Train Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Train Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Consumer Grade skins like Polar Camo are a small fraction of total package contents. There are 5 other Consumer Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

Skin Condition

Float range 0.06 to 0.8. Exteriors: Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Minimal Wear ($0.10): The arctic camouflage pattern appears crisp with white and light grey tones, showing only very minor edge wear on sharp corners. This is the cleanest visual tier available for this skin.
• Field-Tested ($0.03): Noticeable but moderate edge wear and small chips appear on the handguard, receiver edges, and magazine, while the camo remains clearly readable.
• Well-Worn ($0.04): Heavy edge wear is present on prominent corners, with larger patches of exposed darker base metal on the handguard and stock edges, and the arctic camo appears more muted.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.04): Extensive wear is visible, with large sections of the camo thinned or missing on sharp surfaces, and the white/grey areas look heavily dirty and faded.

Polar Camo uses the legacy G3SG1 model, introduced with Out with the old, in with the new on November 27, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

The G3SG1 | Polar Camo is exclusively available as a Souvenir skin, originating from various tournament Souvenir Packages such as the Atlanta 2017 Train Souvenir Package, Berlin 2019 Train Souvenir Package, and others tied to past Majors. These packages were awarded to viewers watching live matches on the Train map, and new packages are no longer being distributed. Buyers can acquire this skin by purchasing it directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, through third-party marketplaces, or via case-opening and skin trading sites.
