AUG | Хамелеон

Origin Story

The AUG | Chameleon, released on February 20, 2014, as part of The Phoenix Collection during Operation Phoenix, features a custom paint job depicting a vibrant chameleon. Its design is characterized by a bright green and yellow chameleon illustration set against darker green and teal tones. While newer AUG skins and other Phoenix Collection items like the AWP | Asiimov have gained more prominence, the Chameleon remains a distinctive, older covert skin. It stands out with its illustrative, animal-themed artwork, which is most visible on the weapon's receiver in first-person view. This skin is recognized as a nostalgic, budget-friendly covert AUG for collectors of operation-era items.

Drop Chance

AUG | Chameleon is Covert, a Red-tier skin, the rarest standard drop grade. From the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case: approximately 0.32% per opening (roughly 1 in 312). The 0.64% Covert tier rate is split across 2 Covert skins in the case. StatTrak versions drop at ~0.03% from the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case (about 1 in 3,125). These per-skin odds assume equal weighting within tier — Valve publishes tier rates but doesn't formally confirm even distribution across skins in a tier.

Skin Condition

Float range 0 to 0.5. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is available in FN, MW, FT, WW, BS.

• Factory New ($111.25): The chameleon illustration appears crisp and vibrant with clean outlines, and the green and yellow colors are at maximum intensity.
• Minimal Wear ($98.64): The chameleon artwork remains highly detailed, with only very minor edge wear appearing on high-contact areas like the muzzle or stock.
• Field-Tested ($95.14): Noticeable scratches and wear begin to appear on the barrel and handguard, and the chameleon's fine details and color intensity may show slight dulling.
• Well-Worn ($102.27): Significant chipping and surface wear are present, especially on edges and the front of the weapon, giving the green and yellow chameleon a faded, battle-used appearance.

Model

Chameleon uses the legacy AUG model, introduced with Operation Phoenix on February 20, 2014. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

Visual Theme

Custom Paint Job: It has been custom painted with the image of a chameleon. Green and teal tones dominate the body, with the chameleon illustration featuring bright greens, yellows, and some darker outlines. In first-person view, the chameleon’s head and upper body on the main receiver are the most visible elements. Community discussion occasionally compares it to other animal or creature-themed skins as an older, illustration-heavy design.
