Origin Story

The Bayonet | Damascus Steel was introduced on January 8, 2015, as part of the Full Spectrum update, expanding the classic knife pool with new finishes. Its blade features a distinctive layered wave-like pattern, a direct result of the forging process using two different types of carbon steel, as described in its in-game description. This patina finish provides a clean, metallic aesthetic, with the intricate swirling pattern dominating the visual identity of the knife. The accompanying flavor text, "Finally, a weapon strong enough to match your resolve," emphasizes the theme of durability and strength inherent in its design. This finish is considered a mid-tier, clean-looking metallic knife option, valued for its subtle appeal rather than vibrant colors or animated effects.

Drop Chance

Bayonet | Damascus Steel is a knife-tier skin, so standard Valve rarity odds don't apply. Knives drop at a combined rate of approximately 0.26% from supported cases before accounting for which knife type and finish you get. Valve doesn't publish individual knife or phase probabilities.

Skin Condition

Float range 0 to 0.5. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is available in FN, MW, FT, WW, BS.

• Factory New ($310.50): The blade displays a bright, high-contrast Damascus pattern with clear light and dark waves, showing minimal darkening along its edges.
• Minimal Wear ($274.13): The Damascus pattern remains strong and metallic, with only tiny darkening or micro-abrasions appearing on the blade edges or near the tip.
• Field-Tested ($249.02): The blade metal becomes noticeably duller, with the Damascus pattern less bright and some darkening along the cutting edge and around the point.
• Well-Worn ($388.36): The metal appears significantly darker and more worn, with the Damascus layering more muted and potentially patchy near the edges.
• Battle-Scarred ($267.27): The blade looks the darkest and most dulled, with the Damascus pattern still present but very subdued, maintaining its structural integrity without chipping.

Model

Damascus Steel uses the legacy Bayonet model, introduced with Full Spectrum on January 8, 2015. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The Bayonet | Damascus Steel is obtainable as a rare special item from opening Chroma, Chroma 2, and Chroma 3 weapon cases. While these cases are no longer active drops, they can still be acquired on the secondary market. A StatTrak version is also available for kill tracking.
