Origin Story

The Bayonet | Rust Coat distinguishes itself with a grungy, post-apocalyptic aesthetic, appealing to players who favor a worn, "used" look over pristine finishes. Its unique visual identity, characterized by heavy rust and darkened steel, makes it a niche collector's item for those building wasteland-themed inventories. This skin was introduced on January 8, 2015, as one of the original CS:GO knife finishes in the Chroma Case knife pool. The in-game description notes that it remains "perfectly operational although the exterior surfaces have rusted," capturing its durable yet derelict charm.

Drop Chance

Bayonet | Rust Coat is a knife-tier skin, so standard Valve rarity odds don't apply. Knives drop at a combined rate of approximately 0.26% from supported cases before accounting for which knife type and finish you get. Valve doesn't publish individual knife or phase probabilities.

Skin Condition

The Bayonet | Rust Coat is obtained as a rare special item from opening a Chroma Case, Chroma 2 Case, or Chroma 3 Case. These cases are no longer in the active drop pool, making new drops infrequent.
