Origin Story

The G3SG1 | Ancient Ritual was released on December 3, 2020, as part of Operation Broken Fang and The Ancient Collection. Its design features a maroon and silver pattern with intricate linework and ancient creatures, thematically linked to Mesoamerican and stone-carving aesthetics found across the collection. The skin's visual identity is characterized by deep maroon and silver tones with a metallic, anodized sheen. The upper receiver and scope area prominently display the detailed pattern, while the side panels reveal the ancient creature motifs upon inspection.

G3SG1 | Ancient Ritual is Industrial Grade, a common skin tier, one step above Consumer Grade. It has appeared across 8 tournament packages, most recently the Rio 2022 Ancient Souvenir Package, Shanghai 2024 Ancient Souvenir Package, and Stockholm 2021 Ancient Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Ancient Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Industrial Grade skins like Ancient Ritual are a small fraction of total package contents. • Field-Tested ($2.31): More visible wear appears along the edges of the receiver, stock, and barrel, with small patches where the anodized layer thins or chips, exposing darker base tones.
• Well-Worn ($2.35): The anodized layer shows substantial wear on frequently handled surfaces, with edge chipping becoming a dominant visual feature and maroon and silver tones appearing more muted.
• Battle-Scarred ($2.08): The anodized finish is heavily degraded, with significant portions of the maroon and silver layer worn down, especially along the barrel, stock, and high-contact edges, leading to a faded metal appearance.

It was originally obtained from Souvenir Ancient Packages, which were awarded to viewers during Major tournaments featuring the Ancient map, such as the Antwerp 2022, Rio 2022, Paris 2023, Copenhagen 2024, Shanghai 2024, Austin 2025, and Budapest 2025 events. Consequently, buyers can acquire this skin by purchasing it directly from the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or various CS2 skin trading sites.
