Origin Story

The Bowie Knife | Case Hardened was introduced on February 18, 2016, as part of the Operation Wildfire update, expanding the range of available knife finishes. Its large blade, color case-hardened through the application of wood charcoal at high temperatures, prominently displays a mix of blues, purples, golds, and silver steel. This finish results in a unique pattern on each knife, making it a collector's item where specific pattern indexes, particularly those with high concentrations of blue, are highly sought after. The knife's in-game flavor text, "A little color never hurt anyone," playfully hints at its vibrant and varied appearance.
